The Inspiration Behind "I Drive Your Truck" From Lee Brice
It was a news story that inspired the writers of the song to create it. Paul Moonti, father of Jared Monti (Medal of Honor recipient) was asked what he does to remember his son who was killed in Afghanistan in battle. His simple answer, "I drive his truck." CMT has the full story here.
Connie Harrington, Jimmy Yeary and Jessi Alexander took that simple, poignant phrase, and it became a #1 for Lee Brice.
